Description
* We have received reports that the container ship YONG YUE 11 (IMO: 8741026) came into contact with the chemical/products tanker RHINE (IMO: 9356816) at the outer anchorage of Chattogram port, Bangladesh, on 4 March 2025.
* It is reported that YONG YUE 11 sustained damage to its starboard hull and propeller and water ingress into the engine room as a consequence of the incident.
* The vessel is reported to have later discharged all cargo at Chattogram and is awaiting the availability of a dry dock there for repairs.
* Cargo not designated for discharge at Chattogram will require to be transhipped to its final destination, possibly aboard another vessel.
* It is therefore possible that General Average issues may arise as a result of this incident.
